Accreditation Defined
Accreditation is the act of certifying that an educational institution maintains suitable standards; the granting of approval to an institution of learning by an official review board after the school has met certain requirements. Specifically, accreditation is the review of a school's course offerings and procedures by a group of its peers to certify that that school is meeting its own stated objectives and offering its students the education it promises them.
The Accrediting Agencies
The National Bible College Association seeks to provide non-governmental recognition and certification by way of providing accredited status to small, private, independent Christian institutions of higher learning. Our goal and purpose is to recognize, endorse and accredit institutions of higher learning that are dedicated to the principles of the Kingdom of God and the effectual nurturing and training of Ministers throughout the United States.
We invite all independent Christian institutions to unite with us as we train up the next generation of leaders. We are a non-denominational, non-sectarian Christian Accrediting Commission.
The National Bible College Association holds to the standard tenants of the Christian faith. We require that all member institutions of higher learning subscribe to and accept the following:
1.There is one and only one, true, holy and living God; Father, Son and Holy Ghost
2.The absolute deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth, death and resurrection from the dead; and His ultimate and eminent return
3.Man is a created being, separated from God by voluntary transgression
4. Salvation is provided wholly by grace through faith in the crucified, dead, buried and resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
5.The Holy Bible is God's revelation to man, containing all things necessary for salvation
6.The person and work of the Holy Spirit
The National Bible College Association requires all members to provide valid proof of providing educational programs, geared in the direction of the instruction, enlightenment and advancement of the Kingdom of God and the effective training of professional ministers. National Association of Private Theological Institution (NAPTI)
(ID#NC513006)
The National Association of Private Theological Institutions serves as a mechanism of Recognition, Peer Evaluation, Certification and Ecclesiastic Endorsement for private Bible Colleges, Christian Universities and Seminaries throughout the United States and abroad.
Accreditation is a totally voluntary option. The United States in no way, shape or form regulates post-secondary education. Each state assumes varying degrees of control over education, but, in general, institutions of higher education are permitted to operate with considerable independence. Accreditation, certification and endorsement of private institutions is provided by national or regional associations who have established criteria, which reflect solid educational programs.
The accreditation of private, religious schools of higher learning, established for the purpose of educating and training men and women for professional ministry has been a question of debate over the past several years. However, accreditation of such institutions should be entrusted to a professional organization/association whose primary concern is the establishment of schools that reflect the very principles of the Church, which has always been autonomous and separate from state.
The National Association of Private Theological Institutions (NAPTI) is provided as a mechanism of accreditation, certification, and endorsement for those private Christian Colleges, Universities and Seminaries who desire the recognition and approval of their professional peers. Each educational institution is reviewed by a committee of professional Christian Educators who are involved in the administrative functions of private, independent Christian schools that grant degrees of a religious nature. Our Certification Committee is comprised of educators who have been instrumental in establishing Bible Colleges, Christian Universities and Theological Seminaries.
